FITTING BATTERIES TO ENCLOSURES

BATTERY CONTACTS
Standard battery contacts push fit into location pillars in the battery compartments,
or separate battery cradles. The contacts include one way tags which prevent pull-out
when removing the batteries. Solder tags are also included for easy wiring.

Universal Battery Compartments..

Battery Mounting
The main types of battery compartment are detailed below:

Integral Compartment
With very small enclosures the batteries are mounted directly into the base or top
part. Access to the batteries is made by disassembly of the case itself. This allows maximum space for the PCB
N & AAA cells

Lidded Compartment
Case with battery holder moulded into the base section and separate clip-on lid for easy access to the batteries. The lid can also be secured by a fixing screw, e.g. as required for medical applications
AAA, AA, C & 9V cells

with Screw-in Battery Cradles
A large aperture, moulded into the the base section, is used for mounting screw-in battery cradles. The cradles are available for different cells e.g. 2xAA, 4xAA, 1x9V etc. A clip-on/screw-on lid provides secure access to the batteries

Plug-In Battery
Compartment
For application which require
frequent re-charging, for example, data logging devices. The plug-in
battery compartment slides into a holder mounted in the bottom end of the case. Suitable for standard cells up to 5 AAs, or rechargeable battery packs
